A stump left behind after a removal can sprout new shoots, attract carpenter ants and other pests, and get in the way of mowing and landscaping. We grind stumps down below ground level, turning them into wood chips that can be used as mulch.
Grinding is far less disruptive than digging out the whole root system. Once the area is backfilled with soil, it is ready for new grass, plantings or hardscaping.
